Maxim Guevara is Business Development Manager at Cortexx Software Inc., a Markham, Ontario software firm and Authorized Spire Implementation and Integration Partner. He is co-creator of Nexus, Cortexx's integration and intelligence platform, and founded Cortexx Systems at 21. He holds an Honours BBA from Trent University.

Maxim Guevara is Business Development Manager at Cortexx Software Inc., a Markham, Ontario firm that provides Spire ERP implementation, systems integration and custom web and mobile software to small and mid-sized businesses. Cortexx holds Authorized Spire Implementation and Integration Partner designations.

Maxim joined Cortexx in 2018 as an office administrative assistant. He worked his way up through SEO and office management to Manager, Technical Services, and moved into business development in 2026. Over five years he has helped grow Cortexx's client base and revenue.

He is co-creator of Nexus, Cortexx's integration and intelligence platform, which connects ERP, warehouse management, CRM and related business systems. At 21 he founded Cortexx Systems, which delivers ERP and software services as a contractor to Cortexx Software.

Maxim exhibited in multiple cities on Spire's 2026 Open House tour and writes for CanadianSME on the decisions Canadian SMEs face with their business software. He holds an Honours BBA from Trent University, specializing in human resource management and making the Dean's List three years running, and CIFC certification from the IFSE Institute.

Ricardo Guevara founded Cortexx Software Inc. in 1997 and has led it as President since. He is the architect and principal engineer behind Nexus, which he co-created with Max, and he sets the direction for the company's Spire ERP practice.

He has spent more than thirty years designing, building and running production database systems and the software on top of them. Through Cortexx he has delivered 27 years of database engineering for BMO and 19 years of contract and logistics systems for WMC Resources and then BHP Billiton.

He holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and spent six years in IBM's programming language research and development group alongside his studies.
